Art,
Education &
Social Engagement
Siljamäki was trained at the University of the Arts Helsinki, Finland, and is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. She also teaches and lectures internationally, including at the University of Agder, Norway, contributing to Nordic dialogue in arts education and socially engaged practice.
Her professional trajectory moves between artistic practice, higher education, and collaborative development across cultural and educational fields.
Her work is characterised by long-term partnerships with teachers, artists, and institutions, where research unfolds through dialogue, shared inquiry, and artistic exploration.
Rather than treating art as a discrete discipline, she approaches it as a mode of engagement that shapes professional cultures, public conversations, and collective imagination.
Rooted in extensive artistic-pedagogical experience, her practice connects conceptual clarity with lived, embodied processes, contributing to ongoing debates on socially engaged art, arts education, and social sustainability.
